Seasons

Album cover design and art direction for Atlanta-based musician Keron’s 2016 album, Seasons.

In 2016 Keron asked me to create some images for his upcoming album, Seasons. As the name suggests, the imagery needed to reflect the passage of time through the lens of the four seasons.

For the next 11 months, I shot photos of some of his favorite locations around Georgia, including some portraits. I would return to the same location during a different season to document the change in environment.

Then I combined some of these photos together.

Our lives are segmented and marked by seasons but sometimes our memories and experiences blur these invisible lines. Therefore, some photos worked on their own, while others were layered over one another, resulting in either a dreamy blend or a harsh juxtaposition of opposing environments.

Next, we needed to create an album cover out of these photos. Together we settled on this final result.

Finally, I created a digital booklet for the album, matching his song titles and lyrics to the final images. Below are two pages from the booklet.
